The Hostage is an intense and captivating tale set against the backdrop of a seedy coastal town where Belen, the vibrant star of the local nightlife, becomes an unfortunate pawn in a cruel game of power and vengeance. He enjoys these horrific videos with the company of Margot, a French prisoner who has reluctantly become the governor’s sex-slave in exchange for information about her daughters, who are also imprisoned under his rule.

Originally written as a screenplay for cinema, The Hostage unfolds with vivid imagery and a relentless pace, combining action, humiliation, and brutality. The story’s visual power is enhanced by fifteen striking illustrations from the artist Badia, which perfectly complement the novel’s dark themes of control, abuse, and sadism.
