The Proto series is set in a fractured universe where a once-united human empire struggles for survival amid the remnants of its former glory. With no central authority to maintain peace, various factions, remnants, and mercenaries engage in an endless cycle of conflict, fighting over the spoils of a crumbling civilization. This malevolent entity feeds on human suffering, seeking to expand its influence across the galaxy. Captain Rothe Karl, a proto human trying to navigate the perilous fringes of space, finds himself pursued by the Yeetran military. His chance encounter with Commander Lhuun, a stunning Yeetrian soldier with a scrambled memory, sets off a series of events that will uncover deep-seated secrets and lead them toward an unimaginable threat.

Throughout the series, Captain Karl and his crew, including his companion Xan, face relentless challenges as they infiltrate dangerous territories. After a harrowing capture by a sadistic Coderian Dwarf, they encounter the gruesome realities of a bio-engineered nightmare. Their journey brings them to Biofaux 7, an abandoned bio-weapons planet, where they uncover the devastating effects of past conflicts and confront the looming threat of the ancient Xenospectres. As they battle to survive, the crew must find a way to combat this dark power that threatens to consume all that remains in the galaxy.
