"Die Geisel" erzählt eine spannende Geschichte über Verzweiflung und Rache. Sie spielt im Mosquito Swamp Gefängnis, einem brutalen Ort im Dschungel. Dort herrscht der sadistische Gouverneur Dalton. Lidia war früher dort eingesperrt und wurde von Dalton gequält. Jetzt ist sie frei. Doch sie erfährt, dass ihre kleine Schwester im selben Gefängnis leidet. Lidia will sie retten. Dafür schließt sie sich mit anderen zusammen und schmiedet einen mutigen Plan: Sie entführen Daltons Tochter Belen. Mit ihr wollen sie die Freilassung von Lidias Schwester erzwingen. Lidia weiß nicht, dass Belen ihren Vater heimlich hasst. Belen fühlt mit den Gefangenen, kann das aber nicht sagen. Sie ist gefesselt und darf nicht sprechen. Die Lage wird immer angespannter. Niemand traut dem anderen. Es kommt zu einem gefährlichen Konflikt. Hier prallen Überleben und Moral aufeinander.
